There's nothing I like better at this time of year than dusting off my sled and taking to the local slopes for a spot of toboganning. Unfortunately though, it rarely snows. And I live in a very flat area. Oh well, here comes Line Rider Mobile to help out.
This conversion of the popular online game sees you assume the role of a toboggan-run designer on your mobile phone. Your mission is to create a circuit using the pointer tool to mark it out from a side view. You can paint curves, jumps, obstacles and and put it to the test with your "rider".
I loved actually testing out the circuit and felt like John Candy in Cool Runnings, guiding the little man through my perilous traps. The graphics certainly aren't that amazing and the character is much thinner than John Candy. In fact he's a stick man. This isn't a bad thing though, as the main draw of the game is in its playability and the skill involved in creating a cool course.
The game options allow you to restart testing, record and upload your circuits, share them with other players, or even publish them on the official website of the game.
It's nice to see something more innovative from a mobile game than just a clone of a classic PC or arcade game, so Line Rider Mobile gets a big thumbs-up from me.
